The Leadership in Education Scholarship

A huge congratulations goes out to Francey Kaiser of U4 Kindergarten/Elementary for being selected as the recipient of the $1000 EdUS scholarship!

EdUS would like to thank and congratulate all applicants, as it was a very difficult decision and one that took many hours of consideration.

Deadline:  The deadline to apply for the 2010 EdUS Leadership in Education Scholarship has passed.

The winter edition of our EdUS scholarship is on its way and with it has some HUGE changes. No longer are we having four scholarships of $250 each.

This semester we are trying something new: how does one scholarship for all the marbles sound? That’s right.

One scholarship of $1000 shall be given each Fall and Winter semester to undergraduate students in Elementary, Secondary, TESL, TFSL, or Music Education who have made an outstanding contribution to the lives of children through leadership in the field of education and/or in their communities.

U0 students are not eligible to apply.

Requirements:

·         Two SIGNED letters of reference detailing instances where the applicant has contributed to the lives of children through leadership in the field of education and/or in their community:

- One letter from a McGill professor in the Faculty of Education.

- One letter from any adult who is not a relative of the applicant.

**The relationship of the referee to the applicant should be made clear.

·         One typed and double-spaced letter in 12pt. Times New Roman font from the applicant stating why they believe they deserve the scholarship (max. 750 words). Please be specific as to how you have contributed to the lives of children though leadership in the field of education and/or in your community.

Any letter (letter of reference or letter of intent) can be written in either French or English.

How to apply:

Please place all letters in ONE envelope clearly marked with your name, program, year, student ID number, e-mail address, and phone number.

Winners of the scholarship will be notified via e-mail and/or phone, and will also be announced on the EdUS website, www.mcgilledus.ca.
